This objects based program comes right into the classroom where students use each of their five senses to discover the special features of the Hudson River that make it an estuary.

This objects based program comes right into the classroom where students use each of their five senses to discover our unique state of New York through fun and exciting props. 

 

Length of program: 40 minutes

Water Cycle Game

Students take an incredible journey as a tiny water droplet in this interactive water cycle game.  Students make a beaded bracelet to keep telling the story of their journey as water through the water cycle.

Length of program: 45 minutes

The Web of Life

Students become the Hudson River food chain using inventive props.  Students learn about the Hudson River as an estuary, New York State geography, the food chain and pollution.

Length of program: 1 hour

Assembly presentation for 100 students:

Pond Life

Using scientific tools students explore a pond study looking for macro invertebrates.  Pond water taken from local pond when possible to link students to their environment.  Students are guided to make a water painting using their observations of what they find in the water.

Length of program: 45 minutes

StarLab

Enter an inflated planetarium dome to view the current night time sky. Stars, constellations and storytelling.
